This bug happened when I first attempted to publish https://doi.org/10.53962/sxhw-eahg – I was ready in the new draft window, so I hit "Publish Now" but the DOI did not get registered. This was unexpected.

I am unsure whether the issue is on the frontend or api, but I experienced it in the frontend so reporting here.
